A button that automatically locks the classroom doors. There are automatic door locks in banks, jewelry stores and other places that have valuables. If schools had this, it would be safer. The button will be placed near the teachers desk so that when there is a lockdown, they could lock it automatically. With my opportunity, it will take time because there are so many schools this would have to be in. Students and teacher should have a place to feel safe and the rules and procedure right now are not helping them stay protected. This way, the teachers can have control and feel like they are safe in the situation and so are their students. I would have to sell this little by little to public schools. I would start in Miami, because that is where I’m from, therefore, my customer is the Miami-Dade Public School System.
Hi Cristina! I think your idea is very good. I think that this would be a very popular product, especially with the increase in the number of school shootings. My mom is a first-grade teacher and she tells me about all of the trainings they have to go through on what to do if a shooter were to enter her school. She gets very emotional about it since the safety of the children is her responsibility. I know this product would help her keep the children safe but also alleviate pressure.
ReplyDeleteHey Madison! I really think you have a smart solution to the opportunity of making elementary, middle, and high schools safer. Having that button is almost like a fire alarm. You should call it a "shooting alarm". Maybe you could also place the buttons in the hallways around schools too. That way if a shooting was done in a hallway, somebody could prevent the shooter from reaching other hallways or classrooms.
